Our History.
For over 30 years Seacoast Outright served as a lifeline for LGBTQ+ youth in the Seacoast area. Our grassroots organization was born when a group of concerned parents and community members came together, united by a mission to protect and support LGBTQ+ youth. Now, our transition to New Hampshire Outright ensures that LGBTQ+ young people throughout the state have access to resources, community, and advocacy.
From the Stonewall Riots in 1969, to the institution of Title IX protections for transgender students in 2014, we draw strength from the many milestones in the fight for LGBTQ+ equality. Since our founding in 1993, we’ve seen the LGBTQ+ rights movement in New Hampshire make great strides, including legalization of gay marriage and adoption, and a ban on discrimination and conversion therapy. But there is more progress to be made, and NH Outright remains deeply committed to advocating for LGBTQ+ youth in our state.
